Families Building Families
What is Families Building Families (FBF)?

FBF is a collection of EAC families who volunteer their time promoting International Adoption. FBF families are very active in their communities, civic groups, places of worship, etc. Many FBF families have joined forces to host fundraising events, holiday parties, and other social activities that promote international adoption and help find families for the children left behind.

At this years 17th Annual Memorial Weekend Reunion the focus of the years event was promoting our "Families Building Families" program. The response from families wanting to be a part of this program was amazing! In this newsletter we will recap some of the wonderful ways EAC families are reaching out to others to spread the word about EAC and international adoption, in general. Another focus has been in the various ways to raise funds to support EAC and their humanitarian aid programs that assist children who remain left behind.

Read below to join FBF, its EASY and absolutely FREE! To see how you can continue to make a difference in these childrens lives, don't forget to view our donation page for other humanitarian and orphan aid efforts.

Stories of Families Building Families

Families Building FamiliesA "Night at the Races" to benefit Guatemala Orphanages, including New Dawn, is being held in November 2010 (please visit the site below for updates as they become available). This event is being held by EAC Guat Families. Plan to attend, or make a donation, at www.wedoitforthechildren.org. There is table and race sponsorship opportunities available. Event coordinators are also seeking donated items for a silent auction.

Families Building Families is off to a great start. On May 16th, 2009 Wendy Scarbrough and Lisa Pearce, in a suburb of Atlanta, GA, organized a 5K fun run/walk entitled "Race for a New Dawn" that raised over $5,000. These funds were donated to EAC and will go directly to The New Dawn Childrens Home in Guatemala City. We even hear there are plans in the works for a golf outing later this summer! A big thank you to everyone that participated!

Taylor P and his friends in his 3rd grade class in Ohio set out to raise money for the orphanages in Kazakhstan. Children in his school dropped coins (and a few bills!) into a large water jug. At the end of the year the amount tallied over $1,800. Way to go Taylor and Friends!

Jackie A. in Virginia hosted a Golden Girls party and made a donation to EAC Humanitarian Aid. These parties are simple to host, just invite your friends who would like to help our cause, have them bring their unwanted gold items, provide some beverages, and let the Golden Girls buy the gold. Visit www.golddoesgood.com for details.
