The First Annual Race for New Dawn was created in honor of our children, Will & Brooks and all the other children of Guatemala. Our boys have not only changed our lives forever, but have also positively touched the lives of so many others. Our friends, family and mere acquaintances comment on how fortunate we all are for knowing and loving these boys. We cannot imagine our lives without them and know there are many other families out there who feel the same about their beautiful little ones from Guatemala. From the first visit trip over five years ago, we fell in love with the people of Guatemala and our hearts have been touched by the innocent children who were born into poverty and unfortunate circumstances. We wish we could bring them all home with us, but since we can't we wanted to find a way we could help.

Since we have participated in charities and road races, we felt this would be a great way to raise a large amount of money for the New Dawn Children's Home. We learned a lot from this first year's experience and have great plans for next year. We met our financial goal without any sort of large corporate backing-we already have raised the bar for next year and with a couple of corporate sponsors should at least double our funds. We encourage others to take on the challenge of creating their own fundraisers.
