Eligibility Requirements
Colombia has strict eligibility requirements regarding the qualification of prospective adoptive parents. In general, eligibility requirements for families seeking to adopt through our Colombia program include:
- Single men and women and married couples
*single men may adopt boys who are over 8 years of age
*single women may adopt boys or girls who are over 7 years of age or who have a special medical or developmental needs
- No more than one divorce per applicant
- Couples should be married a minimum of 1 year at adoption-study approval
- Applicants should be 25 to 55 years of age
- No history of physical or mental health diagnosis
- No history of criminal incidents

The Steps...
1. Complete the preliminary application & service agreement & mail to:

2. Receive an adoption guide and meet your personal consultant
3. Complete your dossier & home study with the help of your personal EAC consultant
4. Submit the I-800 form to UCIS (Immigration)
5. Receive referral
6. Travel to country
7. Complete post-placement annually for 3 years
