Just wanted to update you on something and say "You were right!!!!" Last time I saw you, I told you
about my friend that is adoptiong from Guatemala and decided to use another agency. She waited over three
months for a referral. Her baby was born on July 1, 2006. I just got an email from her in Guatemala. She
is now living down there with her own apartment and just found out that it is going to be another six
months before the baby can come home. Some PGN issue that has gotten them kicked out four times! By the
time she comes home, it will be over 15 months since accepting the referral.
She told me they decided against EAC because it was "a few thousand dollars more." You told me that she'd
end up spending that and you were absolutely right. With the cost of the apartment and the travel back and
forth, she's spent that many times over!
I can't very well tell her I told you so but I did want to tell you that your prediction was correct. EAC
has the best service. I would never use anyone else.

- Historically due to Guatemala's traditional culture, there have been minimal health issues found
amongst the children.
- The wait time for a referral is usually very short. You will receive a referral about 2 – 6 weeks
after complete dossier paperwork is submitted to EAC.
- EAC receives pictures, video, and medical information on all available children before the child
is matched with adoptive families.
- Guatemalan adoptions can be completed within 6 – 9 months after the acceptance of a referral.
- Families receive photograph and medical updates of their children while adoption finalization is
being processed in Guatemala.
- Families may travel to Guatemala to visit the child before adoption completion but after a DNA match
is confirmed.
- One parent may travel. Escort service may be available. Adoptive parent(s) are encouraged to travel.
- An EAC staff member from the USA is in country during your stay in country.
- After adoption finalization, EAC offers numerous cultural events, festivals, and parties to celebrate
the culture of Guatemala and the adoption of our children!
