Zach and Alex's Adoption Story
We began our adoption journey in late July of 2004 by attending a seminar at the “main” office. We had learned of EAC by someone my wife works with. We decided upon Guatemala after meeting a little girl that had just come home from there during our informational seminar. We knew we wanted two children, hopefully twins or siblings. Finding out that was not going to be easy we asked to have two healthy children and would make them siblings in our family.

By Halloween our paperwork was complete and dropped off at the office. Much to our surprise we got
»The time spent bonding with our boys was wonderful...
a call on the day before Thanksgiving that a set of twin boys had been born two days earlier and we could be their parents if we wanted. What a Thanksgiving this was to be! We got our referral photos two days later and immediately fell in love with Andres and Javier (soon to become Zach and Alex).

We took the opportunity to go for a visit in February. The time spent bonding with our boys was wonderful but leaving them behind when we returned to the states was difficult. Knowing they were so well cared for and loved by the foster mother and her family put us at ease.

Less than five short weeks later on March 27, 2005 (Easter Sunday) we again Cleveland bound for Guatemala. This time we would bring our boys home. This visit was shorter and more hectic with the visit to the embassy, which made us appreciate the earlier visit more. We returned to the states less than 8 months after beginning our journey with two healthy, happy boys that can light up a room with a smile and a laugh.

We cannot thank the staff of EAC enough for all their help in completing our family.

Thank You EAC!
