Children Available for Adoption

• Children 1 years old to 9 years old
  
  
• Siblings groups of 2 or 3 where the children are between the same age range
  
  
• Both boys and girls are available

Eligibility Requirements

• Couples must be married a minimum of 3 years.
  
  
• One parent must be a U.S. citizen.
  
  
• Adoptive parents must be 25-50 years old.
  
  
• Parents must be healthy both mentally and physically.

Travel Requirements

Honduran law requires that after the child referral is accepted, both prospective adoptive parents must travel to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to meet the child and complete the Instituto Hondureño de la Niñez y la Familia (IHNFA) family interview and psychological evaluation. The first trip is for 1 week. Two to three months later the parents will travel to Honduras for the second trip. This trip lasts for 1 week. During the second trip families will go to court to finalize the adoption and visit their child. Four weeks later parents will take a third trip that also lasts 1 week, to visit the U.S. Embassy, get their visa and bring their child home.
