08.07.2008 ~ Great News! The new process as designed by the Embassy
of Kazakhstan is underway! EAC has already sent several dossiers to the Attorney Reviewer to be
forwarded to translation soon after.
- After your dossier is submitted to EAC and provided that it is correct and complete, it will be
sent out for processing within 48 hours. After that, it will take approximately 30 days for legal
review and trasnlation before it is submitted to the Embassy of Kazakhstan. Please keep this in mind
when considering the dates of your documents.
- After the Embassy of Kazakhstan receives your dossier, you can expect your invitation to travel
within approximately 2-5 months.
- Two Trips are required; the first trip is up to five (5) weeks; then home for approximately 30
days; then the second trip is approximately 2-3 weeks in length.

03.23.2007 ~ Effective immediately, EAC is happy to announce that our
Kazakhstan program is open and accepting applications for adoption.
10.06.2006 ~ All children adopted in Kazakhstan will be
HIV tested at the SOS clinic. This will add one (1) day to the second trip
extending the stay in country to a total of six (6) days.
08.31.2006 ~ Single women adopting from Kazakhstan need to fill out
the "Single Female Applicant Letter" required by Kazakhstan in order to adopt. That
document can be found in the Kazakhstan Forms Library under "Single Female Applicant
Letter".
06.26.2006 ~ Per the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan, No two unrelated children are
allowed for adoption at the same time unless the child is determined to be of "Special Needs". Siblings
may be adopted.
11.16.2005 ~ All families who have adopted prior to 1998 do NOT
need to agree to the post placement agreement that was sent out. If you have any questions, please
contact the post placement department at EAC.
11.14.2005 ~ New Dossier Requirements
On Thursday, November 3rd, the Government in Kazakhstan released the long-awaited, updated
requirements for dossier to Kazakhstan. Please refer to
www.kazakhembus.com, then Consulate Services, Adoption,
then Requirements to print the new requirements and forms.
Post Placement
All families who have ever adopted from Kazakhstan recently received an updated Addendum A and Post
placement Addendum requiring 18 year parental reporting. The forms can be downloaded from the forms
library "Quick Link" on the home page of our website or by clicking
here. The Post placement form must be typed; this will allow you to do that.

We are proud to announce that adoptions in Almaty and Astana have been reopened and EAC is now
accepting new applications.
