Russia is a fascinating country with a very organized central authority. Prospective adoptive
families submit a dossier for adoption. Many babies, toddlers, and sibling groups await their
permanent families. The staff of consultants and dossier experts are here to help you complete
your adoption as quickly as possible. You can count on EAC to help you every step of the way!
Russian Adoption Summary
Parents Eligibility:
- Married couples or single women can adopt.
- Singles must be at least 25 years old and in general (with some exceptions), the
adoptive mom should not be more than 45 years older than the child they're to adopt.
Over the age of 49, you can adopt a toddler 3+ years old.
- Age restrictions vary throughout Russia.
- Applications are accepted on a case by case basis.
The Children:
Infants, toddlers, and sibling groups are waiting for their "forever families". Families can
adopt more than one child, related or unrelated. Different Regions offer different
amounts of information with the referrals. Families can specify the age range and
gender of the child(ren) they want to adopt. We believe the best way to find "the
best parents for waiting orphaned children" is to help them locate the child they
dream to parent.
The Wait:
It's approximately a 2-12 month wait for a referral after your complete dossier is
submitted.
