Why Ukraine?
- Adoptive parents must be married and at least 25 years of age.
- Only one child may be adopted, unless siblings are available. The youngest child available for adoption is 14 months of age.
- Parents travel relatively quickly after submitting their dossier to the adoption center in Kiev.
- Both parents must travel to identify the adoptive child and attend the court hearing.
- Pre-selection of children for adoption in Ukraine is not allowed, nor are pre-arranged adoptions. Prospective adoptive parents must first be registered with the
National Adoption Center of Ukraine and must personally travel to Kiev before they can be shown orphans eligible for adoption. These arrangements are made by EAC
employees in the USA and also by the staff in Kiev. EAC is there to help you every step of the way.
- Upon arriving in Ukraine, families are greeted by an English speaking EAC representative who will accompany you on your appointment
at the National Adoption Center.
