From early on I knew I wanted children, natural or adopted it didn't matter. Finally finding the man of my dreams and getting married I wanted to start getting pregnant...there was one problem; I was in menopause at an early age. Through an unsuccessful attempt with infertility treatments and egg donation we knew God had plans with us. It was in December 2005, when my husband's heart softened and asked if I wanted to adopt. Oh yes, yes, yes... my dreams to have my family were about to come true. Then my husband did all the research and found EAC: so we started the paperwork and that went on for a year.
Four months later we were on a plane to Moscow Russia to finally meet our little girl. Arriving on Easter we thought God had a special plan... this little girl we were going to be meeting would be our little girl. She was shy at first but within minutes she was laughing and wobbling walking back and forth to Carl and I, it was everything I could hope for. I believe good things come to those who wait and we have been blessed.
"Anastasia" was admitted to the infant orphanage after a month and a half in the hospital due to complications at birth. At birth she weighted 8.37 pounds and 22.8 inches. In her short life all she knew was the orphanage. I missed her every second of the day until our second trip a month later on Mothers Day week 2007. EAC took our hands and we got all the paperwork, court, etc done and we were going home.
Kenadie Anastasia has made our family complete. With big blue eyes and an angelic look we knew she was sent from heaven. God used all these earthly hands to help choose a daughter for us. Her grandparents, aunts, uncle and cousins adore her and Kenadie has nothing but love for everyone. Kenadie will be two in April 2008 and today she is 30 pounds and 36 inches tall and such an intelligent, curious and loving child. We couldn’t imagine our life without her.
