I brought my daughter home from Guatemala on July 19, 2007, when she was six months old. I cannot tell
you how much I appreciate what EAC did for me and I am honored to be writing my journey with EAC. I tried
adopting with another agency and after two failed adoptions, I started looking for another agency. I am single
and I was determined to be a mother. Everyone that I spoke with that used EAC spoke highly of their services.
I signed up with EAC and this was the best experience of my life. They helped me update my information for
my dossier and had all the answers to my questions.
When I received the call stating that a beautiful healthy little girl named Yanira was born on January 8,
2007, and was being referred to me, I was so happy. They said that they would overnight her information to
me. I asked if they could email me a picture and could not take my eyes off her and I must have watched the
video of her over a hundred times. God answered all of my prayers and blessed me with a beautiful, brown-eyed
girl.
The staff of EAC kept me informed through the whole adoption process. My case went smoothly and everything
was right on track. After 64 days in PGN, my daughter was officially mine. On my pick up trip, my mother and I
flew to Guatemala. I was honored to have an EAC staff member, Tori, with me in Guatemala. She was wonderful
and very organized and I do not know what I would have done without Tori. The day I arrived I got to meet the
foster mother and Yanira. When I met Yanira I felt very emotional and knew she was my daughter forever! My
family was waiting for the new arrival at the airport. This was a good homecoming and she fit right in with
the family.
After bringing Yanira home, I re-adopted my daughter and changed her name to Olivia. She is now thirteen
months old, and she has been home for seven months. I cannot imagine my life without her. I got to hear the
first time she said "Mama" and watch her begin to crawl on Christmas. Olivia constantly wants to learn new
things and loves books! Thee memories will last forever.
EAC has a wonderful staff that is informative, supportive and extremely helpful with adoptive parents. I
still talk about my adoption process and would highly recommend them to future adoptive parents. Thank you
EAC for making my dream come true!
