We entered the world of adoption as most parents do, with caution, fear, anxiety, and an extreme measure of faith. Once we chose EAC as our agency most of our fears and anxieties were eliminated as they began explaining the process and what would happen over the next several months. The journey was filled with highs, lows, and many construction signs, so to speak, but that was when our faith had to carry us.

We originally decided to adopt through Russia, however after submitting our dossier Russia closed and we had to rethink that critical decision once again. This was one of those valleys when it could have been very easy to give up and let go of the dream. We chose to see this as a "Detour Sign" on our journey and decided Guatemala was our eventual destination. We switched to Guatemala in March of 2005 and our beautiful little girl was born in July. We visited her in September and had the most amazing time. For us this was the best part of the journey and where we felt EAC really stepped up. They had everything laid out and prepared and held our hands the entire time. We did nothing but relax and enjoy the days with our daughter. Then came the dreaded wait. We filled our time with preparations for her and again allowed our faith to kick in and carry us. Finally, we got the call and were home two weeks before Christmas and we knew there was nothing more we could ask for. Our lives became so full in that instant that the long journey seemed insignificant.

We know without a doubt our lives are complete and adoption was the choice that led us here. We are forever grateful to all those that walked alongside us, those that cried with us, laughed with us, and of course those that celebrated with us!
