My husband and I have always wanted to be parents. We began trying to have a child almost immediately after getting married. However, due to some infertility issues, that just did not happen. Yes, there were many other paths that we could have taken to try and conceive, but the emotional roller-coaster and strain on our marriage was very difficult. Adoption has personally touched our lives in the past through the adoption of my sister. Our inability to conceive felt like a sign from God that adoption was the route we needed to choose. We definitely don't look at adoption as Plan B or "the next best thing." It IS the best thing for us. If we had gotten pregnant, we would have never met our son. The first time we laid eyes on him, everything became clear. The sadness and heartache we felt after not getting pregnant was erased. It was all meant to be because it led us to our son.

That brings me to telling you how absolutely wonderful our experience with EAC was. We often get comments from friends and family about how lucky Jacob is to have us as parents. The truth is, we are the lucky ones. It is because of everyone at EAC that we get the honor and privilege to be the parents of this amazing little boy. All of the pain and emptiness we felt regarding the desire to have a child is gone. The hole in our hearts has been filled, the sadness is over and life has truly begun. Every day from now until forever, we get to experience the joy of caring for him, giving him hugs and kisses, playing with him and just getting to be parents. Prior to EAC, that is a joy we never thought we would experience. Throughout this journey we have heard many adoption horror stories. Thankfully we can truly say that we never experienced that. Our story is one that has a VERY happy ending. We cannot imagine a single day without Jacob and we will forever be thankful to EAC for finding our son and getting him home to us.
